We Build The Merch Infrastructure Behind The Brands You Already Know.
MerchStores is a vertically integrated merchandising company — we handle merchandising strategy, ecommerce technology, and licensing, all under one roof. We design the product, run the stores, fulfill the orders, and hold the licenses that make it all legal. Most merch operations outsource three or four of those functions to different vendors. We don't.
That structure is why we work with touring artists, media franchises, hospitality groups, and culture brands on programs that ship on Monday and sell out by Friday. It's also why we've been able to launch — and keep launching — our own in-house brands alongside our partner work.
Small, remote-first team. Real ownership. Back-catalog that makes work feel like fandom.
About The Role
We're hiring an Ecommerce Operations Coordinator — a real entry-level, fully remote seat — to own the day-to-day in Shopify across our full brand portfolio. You won't be siloed on one store. On any given week you'll ship a product drop for a touring artist's online shop, troubleshoot a checkout issue on a Hyper Iconic launch, and help DragQueenMerch prep an on-demand collab with a headlining performer.
This is the seat where you learn ecommerce by doing it at volume. If you've ever run a Depop, built a Shopify store for a side project, or interned in DTC ops — and you're hungry to do that across a portfolio instead of one store — this role is for you.
Who You'll Work With
You'll report to our Ecom Operations Lead and sit between three teams: Merchandising (who decide what gets made), Production (who make it), and Creative (who stage it). Your seat is the one that makes sure what Merch and Creative promised actually ships out of the Shopify stores on time, correctly, and without customer complaints.
You'll also work directly with our brand managers for Hyper Iconic and DragQueenMerch, plus account leads for our agency clients. Expect to be in Slack channels for 6+ brand storefronts simultaneously.
What You'll Own
- Product listings across the portfolio. Build, QC, and launch listings across 4–6 live Shopify stores — titles, variants, SKUs, images, SEO, metafields, and collection placement. You'll work in MerchStores agency-client stores, the Hyper Iconic storefront, and DragQueenMerch simultaneously.
- Inventory audits. Weekly cross-brand audits — flag low-stock SKUs to merch + production before anything goes OOS. Pull sell-through and write up a short weekly note.
- Launch-day readiness. Staging review, link checks, pricing & promo QA, go-live smoke-tests. Our drops need to land on the minute across stores; you'll be in the room (or the Slack huddle) when they do.
- Reporting. Pull lightweight reporting from Shopify and GA4 — top sellers, sell-through, conversion trends — and share a Monday snapshot across the team.
- Ops runbook. Keep our internal runbook current as we add stores and launch new programs. If you notice a broken process, the expectation is you fix it, not flag it.
What You Bring
- 0–2 years of experience in ecommerce, retail ops, DTC, or a related internship.
- Comfort with spreadsheets — pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, and the discipline to keep data clean when it leaves your hands.
- Hands-on familiarity with Shopify admin, or a strong track record of picking up new tools fast.
- Clear written communication. Most of our ops happens in Slack and shared docs — if you can write a tight update, you're already ahead.
- A real eye for detail. Typos, broken links, bad crops, wrong size charts, unit-of-measure errors — these things should bother you.
- Curiosity about merch, music, fandom, drag culture, and pop culture.
- Comfort working across brands with very different tones and audiences. You'll context-switch from a stadium-tour artist to a drag performer's launch in the same afternoon.
Nice To Have
- Klaviyo, Gorgias, or ShipStation exposure
- Basic Canva, Photoshop, or image-editing chops
- A Depop / eBay / Etsy shop, or a personal Shopify project you've managed
- Any experience with licensed IP, music merch, or live-event drops
Benefits
This role is fully remote. MerchStores is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to building a team that reflects the brands and communities we work with — especially given the portfolio includes DragQueenMerch and our agency work spans pop, Latin, hip-hop, media, and hospitality. If you need an accommodation during the interview process, just tell us in your application.
